Rolling Point is a podcast about cultivating resilience through the dance form Contact Improvisation as well as other artistic practices. It is a harvest of our dance histories, lineages, and contemporary techniques. We use the body as our lens to make sense of the complicated issues we are facing in the world today. Together with friends and colleagues, host Aaron Brandes (Brando) “drop in” with artists, activists, teachers, and improvising human beings. We try to get deep into the cells of our conversations and see if we can find a new unknown place together.
Contact Improvisation is a movement practice that has spread throughout the world. It cultivates an internal sensing of our body while in dynamic physical communication with another. Together we sharpen our attention and play with the physics of mass and momentum, falling and flying, gravity and suspension, stillness and disorientation. Listening to each moment as it unfolds, we mutually innovate a movement conversation.
